Miner Blue Rooster

I was able to get some pictures of my miner blue rooster today.  He's smaller than the black butchers and has more of a pheasant-like feathering.  My strain of miner blues are mostly dark red with dark blueish tails.  I think the miner blues are among the most beautifully plumaged and formed chickens of all the gamefowl strains.  I have a lot of pullets but only this one rooster.  I don't like his comb that much,  the other miner blue rooster that my dog killed had a straight comb and was much more spectacular than this one.  I hated to lose him.  The dog had to go eventually after he also killed ladonnas duck duhduh.

When we build, let us think that we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work as our descendant will thank us for; and let us think, as we lay stone on stone, that a time is to come when those stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our father did for us." -John Ruskin
